Insulation in Gillette, NJ

A new customer in Gillette, NJ needed to better insulate his basement rim joists and the room above his garage. His home was built in 1989, but he owned his house for 2 years. The existing insulation was insufficient. Our comfort advisor Rob gave a proposal to use spray foam. Pipe Works Services, Inc. reduced heat loss and infiltration of cold air by sealing and insulating the Rim Joist area with approximately 2" closed-cell polyurethane spray foam insulation. All gaps around duct work were sealed with tape or silicone prior to applying foam. We removed rigid foam board and plywood from under three cantilevers air sealed and insulate exposed cantilevers with a base layer of approximately 2" closed-cell spray foam then reinstalled plywood and rigid foam board.
