Insulation and Air Sealing for HVAC System and Chimney in Somerset, NJ Insulation and Air Sealing for HVAC System and Chimney in Somerset, NJ

A new customer in Somerset, NJ called into Pipe Works Services because he had multiple insulation issues in his home. The home was built in 1988, was approximately 1,500 square feet. There was no basement or crawlspace, so the problem was not coming from that area, but there was an attic and outside the house had older insulation, where air was protruding through. Pipe Works Services technicians Malik and Charles determined better insulation was needed around the chimney. They insulated around the chimney with Thermax fire rated foam board and fire rated foam/caulk.

Job Stories From Somerset, NJ
Video for Jetting in Somerset, NJ

Our technician finalized the digging and removed the section of pipe that is damaged.  After the video inspection of the line going upstream and downstream it was clear that the line is rotted out.  Mr. Jallad, the on site supervisor, had us camera other lines to determine what can be done for either replacement or lining. The customer then stated that they still wanted to hydro jet the 180 feet of 4 inch cast iron and see the results. The video inspection of the line going downstream before hydro jetting. He noticed that the line was in bad shape.
Mr. Jallad, did not want us to back fill or cement the excavated area. Instead he wanted to do more video inspecting and jetting if possible.
