When this happens, you need to call the professionals at Pipe Works Services, Inc. to get the job done right the first time.

When your home isn't sufficiently insulated, you could be losing the energy equivalent of leaving a window open all the time. Many houses come with attics that have less insulation than they should which means that your attic really isn't doing what it should be. Our SuperAttic insulation system targets cracks and gaps that allow air to leak through and plug them up with our stellar spray foam insulation and rigid insulation.
Because of their location in the home, crawl spaces are an area that can allow air into the home in what is known as the "stack effect." Air leaks from the attic to the outside and, in an effort to replace this air, cold air from outside is drawn in through the crawl space and then circulated throughout your house. Call us today to get an inspection of which areas of your home are causing the greatest amount of problems so that you can start lowering your energy bill.

Our Installation technicians Jose and Alfredo were sent to a customer's home in Summit, New Jersey to install a new gas Lennox Furnace. First the technicians removed the old broken system and returned it to our recycling area at the office. They disconnected the gas, electric, and pvc and replaced it with all new and reconnected. The techs tested the system after the install to make sure everything was working properly. The techs also showed the work to the customer and answered any questions they might have before leaving the job.
We recently had a customer call in because they had a leaky pipe in their attic. When the technician arrived he found the main 2 inch exhaust pipe came undone. The technician needed to cut out both sides of the section and install a new complete piece of pipe. The pipe was located in the attic through a crawl space which he needed to access. The tech got approval for the repair and replaced the bad section of which is currently operational. After inspection and once the equipment is turned back on he found the original company that installed the equipment. The unit is now back in service and the leaking has been corrected.
We received a call from a customer who needed to replace her water filters in her home in Summit, NJ. The technician arrived on site and the customer stated that she would like to replace her water filters and that it hasn’t been replaced in almost a year. He found that the customer had American Plumber water filtration system underneath the sink. They needed to replace both filters and he then took down the model number which was a match the Delta Faucet in the kitchen. The water was not coming out with hot water and he advised the customer that the cartridge not working and he replaced it with a new one.
Our technician was sent to a home for an HVAC diagnostic and upon examination found that the current 4 wire Honeywell zone valve is not functioning properly. The heat zone thermostat closes the heat circuits and then energizes the zone valve via a 120 to 24v 40VA transformer. However the end switch wires he found there is no contact made meaning the internal valve component are not working properly. The tech tested the secondary zone in this hydronic system on the steam boiler and that zone valve during a call for heat did close the end switch. He replaced the zone valve and re-wired the system, also bled out the zone, additionally he inspected the kicktoe heater for operation, one of the two is not circulating on the fan side, Then and after removing a bit more air from the system managed to close the internal thermostat on that kicktoe heater. The valves to remove air on kick toe heaters are not good and should be changed out.
Our installation technicians installed and supplied a Weil-McLain steam boiler with a hot water coil. The techs removed old controls for the circulator pump and installed a taco zone control . additionally they ran a new conduit to the ceiling and replaced the junction box with feeders. The techs assembled new boiler in the basement and began the piping.
They reused all existing piping in the layout. The only thing that was changed was the piping for the hot water loop. Lastly they tied in the return and water supply, followed up by testing the system. Before leaving the job they gave instructions to the homeowner on how the system works and proper maintenance.
This customer stated they had water on the floor last year as the air conditioning had a leak. Upon inspection the technician found the entire basement floor wet and full of water. He inspected and checked the water heater, only a year old and it had no signs of leakage. The tech also inspected the HVAC equipment and found the drain was not clogged and the pump working correctly. The refrigerant charge was fine as well. After further inspection, the customer mentioned the dryer hasn’t worked and has been running for an hour and a half. After inspecting our tech found the dryer vent full of water backing up into dryer. He then found the outdoor perimeter drain outside the dryer vent on the outside of the home showing signs of back up due to heavy rain. The exterior rain had backed up and over flowed into their home through dryer vent. Our technician was able to problem solve beyond just plumbing issues to bring a logical solution for this customers problem.

We installed a new surge protection and chemically cleaned the condenser.
Our customer stated he has no AC on second floor. Upon diagnosis the technician found the wet switch triggered causing outdoor unit to be interrupted by a switch. The tech cleared up water on pan and tested drain line by pouring bleach down the drain, and continued with water, no clog was found. The outdoor refrigeration levels were good, and most likely during the testing of the drain process the initial bleach down the line must have cleared any small debris allowing water to drain properly. He also found upon further diagnostics that vent cap was removed causing water to retain on indoor coil.
Upon arrival our tech met with the homeowner. He ran the system and checked possible issues and found nothing to do with system. The noises coming from airflow through ducts and cannot be adjusted by turning blower speed down. Customer is happy with findings and understands it is not the system causing the issue.

He snaked the drain with a handheld machine but was unable to get through trap, felt like cable was hitting something solid and kept getting caught. He vacuumed water out of drain and found trap was very old metallic piping and was closing up due to scale. Discussed findings with customer and advised having the ceiling downstairs in the dining room opened up and replacing the trap. We will then discuss options for replacement of the trap as well as options to replace the entire shower drain line and the trap.

The compressor amps were good as well as capacitor and he left estimate for condenser coil cleaning.
Our technician arrived on site for water leaking into the basement from the foundation wall. He checked both sump pumps and found them both working. He noticed the wall that was wet was right next to where the sump pump discharge goes out. He went outside and found where discharge comes out. Noticed everything with that was intact and the underground system was draining properly. He notice, there is a slight gap between the front porch and the foundation wall. The technician informed the customer that the leak could be due to the amount of saturation in the ground.
Upon arrival met with homeowner. Diagnosed second floor system and found issues with refrigerant. Provided options to owner that included re-charging system with dye, installing new locking caps for condenser, and chemically cleaning both condensers for first and second floor. Customers are new to the home and wish to perform all suggested work. While working on 2nd floor unit discussed locking caps for first floor and owner wishes to install. This customer stated that his main sewer line was clogged and water and sewage is on the basement floor. When we arrived we found that the laundry sink was filled with water so we explained to customer that we would snake the line and if snaking did not work we would possibly have to high-pressure water jet to clear the line. The customer did advise us that this is been a recurring back up and had the line jetted and snaked before so we then snaked the line from the clean out in the basement and went approximately 75 feet and were able to clear the blockage. We then camera the line out to the city Main approximately 100 feet and found cast-iron piping and heavy amounts of scale and debris in the pipe.
Our technician stated the customer has a leak by spigot area. Upon diagnosis, he found that frost free hosebib had cracked causing interior leakage, and there’s an isolation pex valve currently in place to shut the water to the outdoor valve. He replaced the current frost free spigot with new, silicone base, and adapter inside of home. Tested for leaks and proper function.
Our technician arrived onsite for a clogged underground leader pipe. He snaked line with small drum machine approximately 28’ before the cable would go no further. We will be returning to perform camera inspection.
Our technician removed 3 old gas valves in basement. The one in the ceiling of the boiler room was not replaced as it is not needed. The one for the water heater was replaced and the gas piping to water heater is to be redone. We will also replace the gas valve in the front room by the meter that goes to the CSST. All work will be tested for leaks upon completion.
Our technician performed cooling psa and informed the customer that the systems are past their life expectancy. A replacement should be considered. He also informed the homeowner that come next year, the R-22 refrigerant will be completely phased out and any issues with the refrigerant side of the system will result in a replacement of the entire system.
