Are you considering investing in a radiant heating system for your New Jersey home? Are you wondering whether it is worth it? Are you concerned that your initial investment may not pay off? Radiant heating systems offer several advantages that differentiate them from other HVAC systems.

A radiant-heating system supplies heat through the floor, walls, or ceilings of a home, rather than through the air. It relies on the fact that heat radiates out from the heated object (in the same way the warmth of an oven can increase the temperature in a room).

Three Reasons to Consider a Radiant-Heating System

They are hidden: Unlike traditional HVAC systems, a radiant-heating system does not have any air ducts for the walls or ceilings. Instead, floor radiant-heating systems are hidden below your floor covering. Although ceramic tile is the most popular covering, radiant-heating systems can also be covered by vinyl, carpeting, wood, or even concrete. Some of these coverings, however, will work more effectively than others (insulating materials can slow the transfer of heat).

They are cost-effective: Radiant-heating systems are cost-effective for several reasons. First, they allow you to set the thermostat lower. This is possible because the radiant-heating system radiates the same amount of heat as your body, making you seem warmer than you are. In addition, radiant-heating systems hold heat much longer than more traditional heating systems.

They reduce dust and allergy symptoms: Unlike traditional systems, radiant heating systems don’t rely on air movement to transport heat. This lack of air movement decreases the circulation of dust and other allergens to improve your air quality and your allergies.
