Our electrician arrived at the home in Chatham to check their Kohler generator as per homeowners request, they recently purchased the home and wanted the system looked over. The generator has 190 hrs of run time currently and is overdue for service. The exercise, date, and time are not set, indicating a loss of battery power or possible controller problems. The controller was in the RUN position when he arrived, but was not running. He reset the controller and started generator in the run position. The tech visually inspected the installation, transfer switch, and load controller. He stated that the correct wiring and methods were used. He also noticed the generator is settling a bit, should be leveled.
Our technician installed a Kohler generator and performed the generator start up. He removed the air pressure gauge and bled out the remaining air. The tech attached the gas cap and turned valves on. He verified the proper setting on the controller, tested the generator for proper operation and function.
Our technician went to a home to install an HVAC system. He connected wire from the load shed coming from the generator and tied it into the condenser wiring. he then sealed up a few holes left on duct work and leveled off the condenser and covered line set.
Arrived today and pressure tested gas line. Filled line to 15 psi and let it sit for approximately 10-15 minutes to make sure pressure did not drop. Applied second coat of paint to gas line and checked pressure gauge, holding at 15. Will need to take pressure test off and connect flex hose when we come out to perform start-up.
Perform PSA on generator, oil change, oil filter change, air filter change and replaced spark plugs. Tested operation it’s functioning properly, left in Auto position
Customer has been mulling over possibly installing a whole house generator at their home. After we came out and went over all options and how the installation would be handled, the customer decided it was a must have. Whole process was only 3 days and now the customer will be ready if they do lose power to home
